Your data stays with you: This app stores all your personal data (recipes, shopping lists, meal planning) exclusively locally on your device or in your personal iCloud.

For optional features such as the AI recipe assistant (KAI), an internet connection is required. A pseudonymised user ID is used — no personal data such as name or email is transmitted.

3. Data Collection in the App

3.1 Data You Enter

The app processes the following data that you enter yourself:

Recipe information (title, ingredients, preparation steps, images)
Favorites and ratings
Planned meals and calendar entries
Shopping lists and stores
Cookbooks and categories
App settings and preferences

This data is stored exclusively locally on your device.

3.2 KAI — AI-Powered Recipe Suggestions

The app offers an optional AI recipe assistant (KAI). When using this feature, the following data is transmitted to our server:

Your search query (e.g. "Pasta with tomatoes")
A pseudonymised user ID (no name, no email)
Your device's language setting

The query is forwarded to an AI service (OpenAI) to generate recipe suggestions. Generated recipes are cached to answer similar queries more quickly. Your search queries are not linked to your identity.

4. Storage Location and Security

4.1 Local Storage

All your personal data is stored locally on your device in a protected database. Other apps do not have access to this data.

4.2 iCloud Synchronization (optional)

If you have enabled iCloud for the app, your data will be synchronized encrypted with Apple servers. This enables:

Synchronization between your Apple devices
Sharing cookbooks with other people
Automatic backup of your data

iCloud synchronization is subject to Apple's Privacy Policy.

5. KAI Backend and Data Processing

External Connection: The KAI feature connects to our backend server, which forwards requests to an AI service for recipe generation.

5.1 Services Used

The KAI feature uses the following services:

Own backend server (hosted on Bunny.net) for request processing and credit management
OpenAI API for recipe generation

5.2 Data Transmitted

When using the KAI feature, the following data is transmitted:

Search query: Your description and optional ingredients
User ID: A pseudonymised ID (hash, not traceable)
Device language: So that recipes are generated in the correct language
Subscription status: For credit management (no name, no Apple ID)

5.3 No Personal Data

When using the KAI feature, no personal data is transmitted:

No name, no email address, no Apple ID
No device IDs or tracking
The pseudonymised ID cannot be linked to you
Your own recipes are not transmitted to any server

6. Your Rights

You have the following rights regarding your data:

Access: You can view all your data in the app at any time

Complete deletion: Uninstalling the app deletes all local data

7. Advertising and Analytics

7.1 Free Version

The free version of the app displays advertising via Google AdMob. The following data may be collected:

Device advertising ID
IP address
Device type and operating system
Approximate location (based on IP)

7.2 Premium Version

The Premium version displays no advertising and no data collection by advertising networks takes place.

7.3 No Own Analytics

The app itself does not use any analytics or tracking tools. No usage statistics are collected or transmitted to us.

8. Access to Photos and Camera

The app requires access to photos and camera only for the following functions:

Adding recipe photos from your photo library
Taking new photos for recipes
Scanning recipes (OCR function)

Access is only granted with your explicit consent. All photos are stored exclusively locally and are not transmitted to servers.

9. Push Notifications

The app can send local notifications for planned meals. These notifications are created and processed entirely on your device - there is no communication with external servers.

10. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We reserve the right to update this privacy policy as needed to reflect changes in app functionality or legal requirements. The current version is always available in the app and on our website.
