General Information
The following notes provide a simple overview of what happens to your personal data when you use WiFi Signal Check. The app is available for iOS and macOS. Personal data is any data that can be used to personally identify you.
Data Collection in This App
This app stores all your data locally on your device. Your WiFi measurements, floor plans, and settings remain on your device. If you have iCloud enabled, your data is additionally synchronized between your devices via Apple iCloud (see section 4).
Exception (iOS only): In the free iOS version of the app, advertisements are displayed via Google AdMob, whereby certain data is transmitted to Google (see section 7). The macOS version does not contain any advertising.

4. iCloud Synchronization
If you have iCloud enabled on your device, your app data is synchronized between your iOS and macOS devices via Apple CloudKit. The following data is transferred via iCloud:
Synchronization is performed via your personal iCloud account and is subject to Apple's privacy policy ↗. We do not have access to your iCloud data. Data is synchronized exclusively between your own devices.
You can disable iCloud synchronization at any time in your device's system settings. In this case, all data will be stored locally only.
5. Storage Location and Security
All data is stored locally on your device in the app storage. With the exception of iCloud synchronization (section 4) and Google AdMob in the free iOS version (section 7), no data is transferred to external servers.
The data is protected by your operating system's security mechanisms (iOS or macOS).
Data Deletion
You can delete individual measurements and rooms in the app at any time. When you uninstall the app, all local data is automatically removed. To also remove iCloud data, you can delete it in your device's iCloud settings.

7. Advertising and Analytics Tools
Google AdMob (Free iOS Version Only)
The free iOS version of the app displays advertisements through Google AdMob. The macOS version does not contain any advertising. Premium users also do not see any advertising.

This data is used to display personalized advertising and measure advertising performance. Data processing is based on Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR (legitimate interest in financing the free app version).
App Tracking Transparency (iOS Only)
The iOS app requests your consent to tracking in accordance with Apple guidelines (App Tracking Transparency). You can decline this request without restricting the basic functions of the app.

Disable Personalized Advertising (iOS Only)
You can disable personalized advertising in your iOS device settings:
Use Ad-Free
With the Premium subscription (monthly, yearly, or lifetime), no advertising is displayed and no data is collected by AdMob.
Other Analytics Tools
Apart from AdMob in the free iOS version, this app does not use any other analytics tools, tracking services, or third-party tools. No additional usage data is collected or shared with third parties.
8. Access to Device Sensors and Functions
Camera and ARKit (iOS Only)
The iOS app can access your camera to:
Important: The camera is used exclusively for motion detection. No photos or videos are captured or stored.
Motion Sensors (iOS Only)
The iOS app uses your device's motion sensors (accelerometer, gyroscope) for step detection and position tracking during WiFi measurement.
Location Services (iOS Only)

Access is only granted with your explicit consent and is only required during active use of the app ("When In Use").
Local Network (iOS and macOS)
The app requires access to the local network to measure WiFi signal strength and perform network tests (latency, jitter, speed test, etc.).
WiFi Information (macOS)
The macOS app accesses your Mac's WiFi interface to measure signal strength, network name (SSID), and other network information.
Location Services (macOS)
The macOS app can access location information to retrieve WiFi-related network data. Access is only granted with your explicit consent via macOS System Settings.
9. Network Tools (Toolbox)
The toolbox features perform various network diagnostics:
- Local Network: Latency test, port check, packet loss detection, and device scanner access your local network. All results remain on your device.
- DNS Queries: The DNS test sends resolution requests to public DNS servers (Google 8.8.8.8, Cloudflare 1.1.1.1, Quad9 9.9.9.9). Only standard test domains are resolved, no personal data.
- Speed Test: Downloads and uploads test data from Cloudflare servers (
speed.cloudflare.com). No personal data is transmitted. Only the transfer speed is measured. - WiFi Analysis & Security Check: Captures network information (signal strength, encryption type, channel utilization). All data remains local.
- Traceroute (macOS only): Determines the network path to a target server. Standard network packets are sent, no personal data.
- Data Storage: All test results are stored exclusively on your device (and optionally synchronized via iCloud, see section 4). No measurement data is sent to our servers or third parties.
10. Export Functions
The app offers various export functions:
Exported files are created temporarily and can be saved or shared by you via your device's share menu. You are responsible for the further use of exported data.

In-app purchases are processed through Apple's In-App Purchase system and are subject to Apple's privacy policy. We do not have access to your payment information.
